Cleaning up the bacteria will alter the function and take away the natural cycle of bacteria breaking down the waste. It is recommended to clean up the tank at least once every month, depending on the state of the tank.
Some other marine creatures are capable of cleaning up and maintaining a tank. Snails, cleaner fish and some types of crayfish can help to maintain the state of the tank. Using natural means to clean up and maintain the tank can be advantageous for you and your fishy friends. Maintenance of the state of the water and tank are basics for keeping fish.
